# Monitor recent events

> Track breaches, leaks, and vulnerabilities affecting your vendors, ranked by severity.

Approving a vendor is a point-in-time decision, but vendors change every day. **Recent Events** keeps watch on your tracked vendors and surfaces incidents — breaches, leaks, and vulnerabilities — so a fresh problem lands in front of you instead of going unnoticed.

## Turning monitoring on

Incident monitoring is controlled per vendor by the **alerts** setting on your vendor list. When alerts are enabled, that vendor's incidents appear in Recent Events and can trigger email notifications; disabling alerts silences a vendor without removing it from your list.

## Email alerts and subscribers

Beyond the in-app feed, VendexLabs can email incident notifications to the right people. Alerts are granular: an **alert-criteria matrix** decides which event types (status changed, assessment updated, expiring soon, expired, security incident/breach) reach which recipients (compliance contact, sponsor, and the person who added the vendor), and you can add extra **subscribers** per list. Recipients can unsubscribe at any time. See [Settings & notifications](/account/settings-and-notifications) for the full alert system.

<Note>
  When an incident affects a vendor you've approved, treat it as a prompt to re-open the [assessment](/guides/run-an-assessment). Monitoring is what turns a one-time approval into continuous oversight.
